Adam Szymkowicz--Spring 06
Adam Szymkowicz is currently studying with Marsha Norman and Christopher Durang at Juilliard in the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program. In 2004, he received his playwriting MFA from Columbia University where he was the Dean’s Fellow. In New York, his work has been read, workshopped, or produced at Playwrights Horizons, The Neighborhood Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Source, 13th Street Rep, Epiphany Theater, The Drama Book Shop, Sticky@ Belly, Little Theatre, BAM, Galapagos, Actor’s Playground, Café Sha Sha, Latenite Theatre, hotINK, the Daryl Roth 2, The Happy Hour Salon, Under the Volcano, Chashama, Theatre Studio and Schapiro Theatre. He has had productions throughout the country and in Canada, England and Lithuania. Adam is a Lecomte du Nouy Prize winner and was a semi-finalist for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 P73 Grant. The Relationship Game was a finalist for the Hangar’s 2004 summer festival. Open Minds was a finalist at the Bay Area Playwrights Festival and a Risky Play at The Cutting Ball in 2003. Deflowering Waldo will be published by Dramatists Play Service this spring. Other full lengths include Anne, The Art Machine, Someone I Don’t Know, Hotel West, Pretty Theft, Food For Fish, Herbie, and Nerve. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and of Sanctuary Playwrights Theatre and Assembly Productions, both in New York. He is represented by Beacon Artists Agency. Lucy Thurber--Fall 06 Lucy is the author of seven plays, WHERE WE'RE BORN, ASHVILLE, SCARCITY, KILLERS AND OTHER FAMILY, STAY, BOTTOM OF THE WORLD and MONSTROSITY. Rattlestick will produce her play STAY in the winter of 2007. Her play BOTTOM OF THE WORLD was workshopped by WET at The Eugene O’Neill Playwrights’ Center. BOTTOM OF THE WORLD was part of the first Tribeca Theater festival and received a workshop at The Public Theater. She attended New River Dramatists in North Carolina. Her play WHERE WE'RE BORN was produced at Rattlestick Playwrights’ Theater in the fall of 2003. KILLERS AND OTHER FAMILYwas produced at Rattlestick Theater in 2001. She was the recipient of the 2000/2001 Manhattan Theatre Club playwriting fellowship. She was a guest artist at The Perseverance Theater twice, where she helped to adapt both MOBY DICK and DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS. She has had readings and workshops at Manhattan Theatre Club, The New Group, Primary Stages, MCC, Encore Theatre in San Francisco, PlayPenn, Williamstown and SOHO Rep. Her ten-minute play DINNER is published in a collection called, Not So Sweet, 16 plays from SOHO Rep’s 10-minute play festival. She is a member of MCC Playwrights’ Coalition, Primary Stages writing group, 13P and New Dramatists. |
